Upper Spotlight – P-Priime

P! Giddem! Pretty sure we are familiar with that tag. And if you aren’t, I really don’t know what to say to you.

I believe everyone agrees with me when I say music is evolving and our creatives are also evolving. Afrobeat is being redefined and taken globally not just by our artistes, but also our producers who bless our ears with quality production.

Yearly, we see various musical acts break into the music scene and take the industry by storm. But of recent, it’s not just been artistes making their big break; producers are also breaking in, and getting the right recognition which they deserve and are no longer being credited behind the scene and underpaid.

Today, we spotlight on Peace Emmanuel Oredope popularly known as P-PRIIME.

Born in Lagos State, on the 28th of March, 2002. From a Christian and musically inclined home. Priime got introduced into music at a tender age, as his father was the leader of the brigade at church. Though his passion for music came at an early age, him becoming one of the best producers and a force to reckon with in the industry was never envisaged as production came as a result of boredom. Honestly, I know how hard it is at the beginning stage of production. It is frustrating. But hey, if you believe you can do it, do it and keep on!

Just as Dunnie, STG & Tempoe, Priime is also an alumni of the prestigious production academy “Sarz academy”. His enrollment in the academy was out of “make I just do am. If e happen, e happen” and to his surprise, he got selected and today we have P-PRIIME! During the time spent at the academy, he got to learn about the music industry, music business, dos and dont of the game. He is currently been managed by Juhmiecakes, who is the General secretary of the academy.

2020 was quite a year for everyone with the lockdown and pandemic. But for Priime, it was an incredible year. He linked up with industry giants. He literally had the highest production credits off Baddo’s Carpe Diem” by producing 7 tracks. And that cemented his name in the industry. Prior to producing for Baddo, he had also produced for the likes of Oladapo, Goodgirl LA, Zlatan, Peruzzi, Fireboy, Dj Cuppy, Gbasky, Sexy Steel just to mention a few. He has also had the opportunity to work with the likes of Moelogo, Jamopyper, Teni, Wurld, DJ Tunez, R3HAB

Post pandemic, Priime had done great for himself by bagging an AFRIMA nomination and safe to say he has been named amongst the best producers for the past one year and one to look out for. His 2021 couldn’t get any better has he got to produce with Machala! Starboy himself Wizkid, off the deluxe edition of this Grammy nominated album “MADE IN LAGOS”. Soon we would refer to Priime as a Grammy winning producer. In recent times, he has also gone on to work with Asa, Reekado Banks.

It’s clear to say Priime is versatile and explores a whole lot of sounds. We wish P-PRIIME an amazing year filled with hits, chart topping tracks and global recognition.
