So, sit back, grab your earphones/ speakers, and scroll through to see the best of the latest songs that dropped in the week.

Tyla ( Album) – Tyla

If there were any doubts about Tyla’s plan for longevity, I think she is putting the wavering Thomas’ to rest. The South African star-girl recently released her self-titled debut full-length album, ‘Tyla’ and it’s anything short of impressive. The fourteen-track body of work is an oeuvre that fuses African percussions with contemporary Western sounds and features gifted creatives that cut across the globe from Tems to Gunna, Becky G, Travis Scott, and others.

Loner – Wizard Chan , Joeboy

Award-winning Indie Afro-pop artiste, Wizard Chan is known for his ethereal sonic explorations and deep-cut lyricism. Chan’s latest release, ‘Loner’ features popular Nigerian singer, Joeboy and the duo delivers heartfelt vocals and storytelling underlined with minimal yet brilliant instrumentals.

Dalilah – Joshua Baraka, Simi, Qing Madi, Axon

Without a doubt, Kenya’s very own Joshua Baraka drives the nuanced soundscape of Eastern Africa, as he makes beautiful music that explores youthful themes. His latest single, ‘Dalilah’ enlists the creative inputs of legendary Nigerian female singer, Simi, fast-growing songbird, Qing Madi, and Ugandan music producer, Axon.

Ikwo Ufan Ikwo Ma – Etuk Ubong, Dotti The Deity

Etuk Ubong and Dotti The Deity’s ‘Ikwo Ufan Ikwo Ima’ celebrates the rich sonics of highlife and folky African tales of camaraderie. The newly released song’s length might be abrupt, but the goosebumpy effects are almost infinite. If you are in dire need of a different and ingenious sound wave, I promise, you need not search further.

No Lymyt – Sio

Hailing from Ennerdale, South Africa, Sio is a unique singer, songwriter, and storyteller with a lo-fi/ soul /jazz sonic approach that makes her music feel like a timeline of never-ending emotions. She brings this feeling to fruition once more in her latest song, ‘No Lymyt’.
