Upper Spotlight: Spy Shitta

One of the enthralling spectrum about the ever burgeoning and competitive music scene is how we get to discover new acts per annum. 2022, music listeners ecstatically received projects from almost every top-gun in the Nigerian music industry, the overflow never seemed to stop. In the same light, arms were opened to new acts like Spy shitta.

Birthed on the 10th of November, 1999, with the Government name Bolanle Shitta Razaq, an amazing fast rising singer and songwriter, signed to Oystar Breed Entertainment. The gifted singer’s first experience in the studio booth came at the bijou age of 13, ever since, he has been a “studio rat”.



While still a student at Yaba college of technology(YabaTech), he started making freestyles and subsequently gained a loyal fan-base on campus. His debut single ‘whine’ was released in February, 2021 and received a lot of buzz. The artiste is confident of his sound, and believes it’s what’s people can relate to. Spy Shitta claims to get his inspiration from the likes of Wizkid, Burna boy and Tems.


Within a short frame, Spy shitta has been able to work with notable acts like Olamide, Bnxn, Victor AD, to mention a few. Recently, he secured a feature alongside Lil kesh on Governor of Africa’s ‘Joana’ With his self acclaimed body of work, “Spy Shitta The Ep”, he got to furthermore feed his every hungry fan-base, the E.P is a seven track project which includes songs like ‘Whine’, ‘Migraine’ and ‘Kolobi’, the latter record features Ybnl boss, Olamide.
